Richard Polt comments on Sonia Sikka's Heidegger, Morality and Politics.
In short, we open up worlds of meaning and understandings of being, but these worlds do not, and cannot, do justice to every aspect of every entity that we encounter. So we have to keep wrestling creatively with our world, in order to keep being responsive to the richness of what there is. This is a sort of ethic, although it does not take the form of a set of rules, or a canon of virtues or values. Of course, we can apply a kind of self-critique to Heidegger: he did not, personally, do justice to the richness and complexity of the human world, but was all too attracted to simplistic schemes and sweeping judgments.
