In the Times, on the world-poor young.
For the German philosopher Martin Heidegger, the archetype of boredom was being stuck for four hours in a provincial railway station with nothing to do. This is an experience that the vast majority of those under 30 will never have had. When I read yesterday that one in eight young people are still virgins at 26, I found myself wondering, quite seriously, whether this was why.
