In OneZero Alexis Papazoglou on controlling tech.
This brings us back to the feeling of loss of control over modern technology, especially the kind that we carry with us at all times: our phones. Heidegger would say that’s because it is not technology serving our aims, but rather that we are serving the aims of our technology. We generate the data and behaviors that it needs to operate more efficiently, and we live in ways that serve not our goals but those of technology.
