All Things Shining is the title of a forthcoming book by Hubert Dreyfus and Sean Kelley. The latter asks:
How did we go from the intense and meaningful lives of Homer’s world to the sadness and indecision, perhaps even the nihilism, of the current age? And how can we find the shining things once more?

Reading Homer and thinking there is no nihilism in his world is like watching Disney flicks and thinking we live in nirvana.
