In-der-Blog-sein

George Hartley posts a shining paragraph from “The Origin of the Work of Art.”

Comments:
I tried posting this on Hartley's blog, but I guess it's necessary to sign in first. Duh.

It's been a while since I struggled with Kunstwerkes, but struggle I did, long and hard. I can see why in rereading this 15 years later.

MH's theory of truth is clear(?) to me now and wasn't then. His trail to energia still confuses me and on to objectivity and experience has been dominant in the West for such a long time I had no notion of its history.

As someone interested in religion, I would only add that it is the appearance of truth in beauty that I deem the Good--at least that's where I look for it.
