Progressive Geographies has the details on the recently announced conference on Heidegger’s Black Notebooks: Philosophy, Politics, Anti-Semitism at Emory on September 5-6.

Daniela Vallega-Neu (University of Oregon) has been added to the list of speakers.

I didn't go the the Heidegger Circle in south Florida this year because it required an eight hour layover each way, and I didn't have the time available, but there's a direct flight to Atlanta.

Six months after their publication, it would be interesting to hear scholars' impressions on what insights the notebooks have into Heidegger's way of thinking. But a whole conference on the handful of references to antisemitism seems somewhat obsessive.

Comments:
Antisemitism isn't the exclusive topic of the conference.

Daniela Vallega-Neu has dropped from the list of speakers.

Michael Marder (University of the Basque Country, Vitoria-Gasteiz)
was added.
