In Le Devoir, Jean Grondin on defending Heidegger.
Notebooks from this period show that Heidegger was unfortunately fooled by this demented war propaganda which featured Hitler as a leader who wanted peace, but peace proposals were always rejected by the Allies because of the influence the Jews exercised on them. In this perverse propaganda, it was also the "judeo-bolshevism", who was responsible for the opening of the eastern front and the war with the Russia. At the time, as Stargardt point out, German Catholic Bishops publicly supported this "defensive war" against the Russia.
