In case you missed the comment on the previous post, here are the MP3s of Hubert Dreyfus lectures on Being and Time, Division II, Spring 2008.

By my count, there are currently four of his Heidegger classes available online:

Later Heidegger 2001
B&T Div 1 2002
B&T Div 1 2007
B&T Div 2 2008

B&T Div 1 2004 circulated, but I can't find it on online today.

Comments:
Sorry if I missed it but if you go to the following page that'll open up the Berkley iTunes U site. Go to Arts and Humanities Courses and it'll show the following classes.

Philosophy 185 (Dec 6, 2007) Heidegger
Philosophy 189 (May 13, 2008) Heidegger's Being and Time Division II
Philosophy 7 (May 6, 2008) Existentialism in Literature and Film

There's also two others that look interesting

Phil 6: Man, God and Soceity
English 117S: Shakespear

The Apple url immediately redirected to a page wanting to install software. After having flattened a machine to remove all vestiges of QuickTime that prevented other apps from playing media files, I don't think I'll go down that road again. Luckily, all those courses are available at webcast.berkeley.edu.

I tried to download the Later Heidegger classes, but wanted me to download a "torrent" -- I am concerned about security.

Have you tried this?

Thanks,
Jeff

A torrent is an internet protocol, like ftp and http.

What's particular about torrents is that clients (e.g. your machine) don't transfer a file from a server, but instead download the file in pieces from a network of peers.

I understand that torrents now make up the largest portion of traffic on the internet.

Wikipedia does a better job than I can of explaining it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_%28protocol%29

I've downloaded both of the lecture torrents and they contain MP3 files with the expected lectures.

I have tried to download the Later Heidegger lectures that Dreyfus gave in 2002, but no success. Does anyone still have these lectures, or can help me to gain access?

Would really appreciate your help

DD

I'm uploading the Later Heidegger files to a SkyDrive.

Send enowning at gmail an email, and I'll give you permission to access their folder.
